Production & Quality AssistantLocation: New York, NY (Hybrid)Reports to: Director of ProductionOverviewJennifer Behr is seeking a detail-oriented production operations professional to support the day-to-day execution of manufacturing, quality control, and materials flow across core and seasonal styles. This role is responsible for ensuring finished goods and materials meet brand quality standards, managing repairs and VIP requests, and maintaining clear, accurate production documentation. Acting as a key point of contact between the studio, factories, and vendors, this position helps keep production moving smoothly and on schedule.The ideal candidate is highly organized, hands-on, and proactive, with a strong eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset. They thrive in a fast-paced studio environment and are comfortable balancing routine operational tasks with evolving production needs. Success in this role means fast and predictable repair turnaround, reduced repeat defects, and seamless material flow—ultimately supporting the high-quality craftsmanship and operational excellence that define the Jennifer Behr brand.Core ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations & Quality Control● Own day-to-day production operations with a focus on quality control, repairs, and material flow across finished goods and incoming materials.● Perform QC checks on materials, samples, and finished goods using established checklists, ensuring all items meet brand standards before use or shipment.● Identify, document, and help resolve quality issues, contributing to a reduction in repeat defects over time.● Support weekly QC reviews and assist with in-person factory QC checks when assigned, clearly documenting findings and escalating issues as needed.Repairs & VIP Requests● Manage weekly repair processing, including logging incoming repairs, tracking turnaround timelines, and coordinating priority and VIP customer requests.● Maintain accurate repair documentation, including issue type, root cause (when known), and resolution.● Partner with factories and vendors to ensure fast, predictable repair turnaround and clear communication on status updates.Factory & Vendor Communication● Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day communication with factories and vendors regarding QC questions, repair status, and material confirmations.● Support smooth production flow by proactively flagging issues, delays, or shortages and collaborating on solutions.Materials & Inventory Management● Support material inventory management by checking materials in and out, tracking usage, and documenting where materials are sent (vendors, factories, in-house).● Ensure all materials, samples, and finished goods are properly labeled, stored, and organized.● Assist with material ordering support and PO tracking, confirming quantities, tracking deliveries, and flagging shortages or delays.Production Tracking & Documentation● Maintain and update production trackers, repair logs, and status sheets with accurate, up-to-date information.● Ensure QC notes and findings are shared with Production and Development teams for reference in tech packs and future production.● Support seasonal and core production preparation, including material flow from sampling through overage and production.Studio & On-Site Production Support● Support daily studio operations, including receiving and shipping packages, coordinating city runs, and maintaining general studio organization tied to production materials.● Provide on-site production support as needed to reduce shipping delays, improve communication, and keep workflows efficient.● Assist with process improvements over time to strengthen QC standards, materials tracking, and overall production efficiency.Why Jennifer BehrHighly collaborative and creative environmentCompetitive compensation and benefits packageBenefits401(k)Generous PTO policySummer Fridays programHealth/Dental/Vision insuranceLife & Disability insuranceDomestic Partner coverageCommuter benefitsFlexible spending accountsJennifer Behr’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $50,000 – 60,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
