Chet Lo Transports Londoners to the Night Markets of Hong Kong for Fall 2026

Chet Lo technically presented his Fall 2026 show in central London on Saturday evening, but the designer transported guests to a destination farther east. The Asian-American designer transformed the Mandarin Oriental Hotel into a Hong Kong night market, with restaurant-style laminated menus, street carts full of groceries, food stalls with steaming woks and tables filled with original work — from drawings to clothing — by East and South Asian artists for sale. (The brand is set to donate profits generated from the event to the Asian People’s Disability Alliance, which provides care for elderly, disabled and “other isolated people,” according to the organization’s website.)On the runway, models embodied everyday characters roaming a market, gazing carefully at each booth and what it had to offer. The first “customer” entered in an emerald-green halter top and matching maxi skirt, both made from Lo’s signature popcorn-style knitwear — or, as he calls it, “Merino wool spikes.” Ostrich feathers protrude from each pucker in the fabric, creating a heightened textural experience for the look. Show notes describe the raised design of the material as a form of armor and “second-skin knit rooted in romance but with restraint.”

Looks in gradient reds and blacks round out the collection in the form of floor-length long-sleeve gowns, cropped cardigans, leather gloves and a modernized qipao with see-through panels and flame-like patterns down its center. One standout piece is a bright-red pullover hoodie, complete with black feathers attached at every corner where the fabric gathers.”From self-reclamation to communal uplift, from individual voice to chorus, Night Market is a call to gather — to uplift one another in an industry where authenticity is increasingly rare,” read the show notes. “Through street-inflected demi-couture, theatrical storytelling and celebration, Chet Lo invites us into a site of connection and shared belonging.”See every look from Chet Lo’s Fall 2026 collection below.
