For most NYFW first-timers, the moment is an opportunity for designers to introduce themselves to the fashion world through media attention (and, ideally, retail interest). But Los Angeles-based fashion brand Cult Gaia needs no introduction. Founded in 2012 by Jasmin Larian Hekmat, the label has gained a loyal fanbase and has gone viral for its “It” bags and architectural accessories. Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Meghan Markle, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Alba are a few among many celebrities who have worn the brand. Beyoncé’s youngest daughter Rumi Carter sported a gold dress from the Cult Gaia Kids line while performing onstage during the “Cowboy Carter” tour.All that to say, Cult Gaia didn’t need to present at NYFW for Fall 2026. Business would’ve been just fine without it. But Hekmat said she joined this season’s calendar because she wanted show how absolute the brand’s identity is.

“Our direction and who our customer is is so absolutely clear, and we’ve been able to refine every single category,” she told Fashionista backstage after the show. For Fall 2026, the label added another category to its universe with the introduction of menswear. “You can really see the through line between all of [our pieces],” she continued. “I felt like that clarity was just really exciting to show.”A core element of Cult Gaia’s DNA is its aim to celebrate women. So it was to no surprise that Hekmat’s starting point was female figures in her life, including her mother and grandmothers. “[I wanted to show] this idea that women should be fearless and strong, but can also be graceful,” she said. Standout designs include suiting featuring Cult Gaia’s signature calla lily motif, skirts and dresses with a hand-painted, tile-like finish and sculpted gowns with engineered pleats.See every look from Cult Gaia Fall 2026 below.
