“For these premieres, I wanted, not to separate myself from my character, but I had in my head, ‘Okay, I’m 19. I want the world to see me as a young woman now, not 13-year-old Erica,'” Ferguson tells Fashionista. “So I really looked at these premieres and all the press looks as my way to pop out to the world and the people who have been watching me since I was a young girl.”The recent high school-graduate has been working with stylist Enrique Melendez, whose other clients include “It” girls Jenna Ortega and True Whitaker. The two worked closely on Ferguson’s latest premiere looks (Alisa Dudaj for L.A. and Aadnevik for London). “His advice matters to me when it comes down to fashion because he’s great at what he does,” she explains. “He was on the phone while I was trying on all these different dresses in a London showroom and it all came together perfectly.”Below, the “Stranger Things” actor talks about her favorite recent fashion and beauty purchases, the unexpected luxury accessory she’s ready to splurge on, hair hacks she learned from set and how her personal style relates to her ’80s character.

What’s a luxury beauty item you’re into?Jean Paul Gaultier [makes] one of my favorite perfumes. It’s this floral scent and it comes in a blue bottle. [Editor’s Note: La Belle Paradise Garden Eau de Parfum.]I’m a huge fan of Dior blush. Too Faced— I’m not sure if that’s luxury, but the price is pretty up there. And also I’m a huge fan of Fenty Beauty. How about a drugstore beauty item? The E.l.f. Grip Primer. It’s one of my favorites. What’s an accessory you have your eye on?I would definitely say a Cartier bracelet. I’m eyeing that right now. And I love David Yurman. I have a David Yurman necklace so maybe a diamond bracelet to match. I love diamonds. What shoes are you loving?Christian Louboutin has these ballerina flats and heels, those are really cute. I also used to do ballet when I was younger, so I think it would be fun to incorporate that into my style now. When I’m looking at fashion inspo on pinterest and I see the ballerina shoes, I just think they’re so cute and fun and girly to add to a really chill fit.Any other luxury fashion items you’re lusting after?Another shoe I’m eyeing would be Chanel rain boots. I love a good piece that you can either dress up or down and it would just be the statement [of an outfit].Has anything from your character Erica’s wardrobe made its way into your own?Erica wore scrunch socks in Season 3, and I still wear scrunch socks. That’s very ’80s. I get them from Amazon if I have a little more time, but I also go to my local beauty supply store. You can really get them anywhere.

How does your personal style relate to Erica’s?I feel like Erica is so aware of her style at such a young age. If I was that aware at 13, our styles would definitely be similar. But I didn’t really care as much until eighth grade. She loves the color pink, which is one of my favorite colors. I think that she’s very girly, even down to having her nails done. Erica loves a good pop of colors on her nails and that is definitely me. One of my favorite outfits of Erica’s would be from this season, her and the Benetton jacket. I think that was really cute. I get inspired by Erica a little bit. What’s a recent affordable fashion purchase you’re loving?I have these jeans from Jaded London. They’re kind of baggy and they look dirty but that’s the whole point. I think I love those jeans so much because they’re such a statement piece. They’re the outfit. And I pair that with a nice crisp white Skims top. What’s a wardrobe staple you love so much you’ve bought multiples?Anything Skims, honestly. But particularly the outfits with the little lace. I bought several different versions of those. Like, a lace bodysuit with shorts, normal bodysuit and then a lace bralette. Skims. Anything Skims.

What’s the last product someone from the “Stranger Things” cast or crew influenced you to buy?In [the hair department] sometimes to fill in little gaps, they have this black spray [Editor’s note: a hair fibers product like this one]. It’s very helpful, especially if you’re doing an updo and you don’t want too many gaps to show depending on the lighting of the space you’re in. I would love to have that. What’s the last product an influencer or celeb influenced you to buy?I am really influenced to buy everything, which is why I have to stay off of TikTok. Right now, I’m really into red light therapy. I was influenced to buy a red light therapy mask and I put it on every night for 20 minutes and it really does help. It helps improve your mood, the glow-yness of your skin. Also, these avocado eye masks. And I think I might be heavily influenced to buy a heated sleeping mask.
