Los Angeles–based Block Shop Textiles works with fifth-generation master printers in Jaipur, India, who block-print the curtains, in a range of pattern options, by hand. We tested the (now sold-out) April Showers version, which was vibrant and stitched perfectly, with a thick medium-weight cotton shell and a lightweight cotton liner that felt sturdy and high-end. The contrasting pattern and stunning print quality make this curtain a true piece of artwork. Reinforced fabric eyelets along the top feel sturdy, yet subtle. When we poured half a cup of water onto it, the water merely beaded up atop the tight, thick cotton, rather than immediately sinking into the fabric as with our other contenders.It’s beautiful inside and out.
