Origin Story
Fatema Yasmine Akhund is an artist, poet and writer whose path spans medicine, media, technology and executive coaching. Born in Bangladesh, raised in the U.K., and now living in the United States, she has carried her global story into every chapter of her life. What unifies her diverse expertise is an unwavering commitment to beauty as a transformative force. Through Ashaki, she extends her belief in beauty’s profound mystical power to heal and elevate those who embrace it.
Lily Holm fundamentally believes in the power of clothing to change how one moves through the world. Her dad encouraged it, preaching the value of looking good to feel good and the influence it could wield. Holm has been driven by this belief — the need to create and a desire for beauty — which led her to Akhund and Ashaki. Her sincerest hope is that, through these pieces, the customer can embody that power for herself.
Each Ashaki garment is handcrafted with heirloom sewing techniques and intricate embroidery, shaped with body-aware design that honors both comfort and presence.
